What does the 'Access Now" link/button mean in the database?

UW Oshkosh Libraries uses an 'Access Now" link when the database has the citation but not the full-text of the article. If patrons click it on the citation page for the article, it links back to the the library's record for the item. From there, they can either click on an alternate database that does include the full-text, or they can request via interlibrary loan if no full text is available.
